What ArrowDeck does

ArrowDeck is not a code editor. It launches, supervises and lands the work of any number of agents across any number of projects, each in its own worktree. “Open in editor” hands one of those copies to the editor you already use. The ArrowDeck overview walks through the window with pictures.

• Every job gets its own copy of the project

  ArrowDeck makes a fresh copy of the project on its own branch for each task, and it is the only thing that starts agents — so it will not start one in a copy that is already busy. Two agents cannot overwrite each other, and neither can touch the checkout you have open in your editor.

• Nothing an agent wrote gets lost

  While an agent works, ArrowDeck quietly captures whatever it has written but not yet saved properly — every few minutes, and immediately on exit, death, or a usage limit. Restoring one of those puts it into a fresh copy of the project, so it can never overwrite newer work.

• Followed all the way to live

  Each task is tracked from claimed, through code written, pull request open, checks running, ready to merge, merged, and live and verified. A row only ever offers the button that is safe right now — a task that is not ready to merge simply has no merge button.

• It finds what you already have, then wires it up

  On first run it looks around your Mac and tells you which coding agents you have installed, which projects it can see, and the name your commits are signed with. Nothing is changed while it looks. One click sets up what it found, merging each app's settings rather than overwriting them, with a backup before every write.

• Several accounts on one Mac, no spill-over

  Multiple AI accounts, GitHub identities and workspaces side by side. Each project binds to exactly one of them, and an agent launches with only that one's credentials. Where it would be a guess, ArrowDeck stops and asks you — never a silent fall back to whoever happens to be signed in.

• You are told when an agent needs you

  An agent waiting on an answer gets you a macOS notification that opens straight to its terminal. Progress moments update the bell in the title bar instead of interrupting you. Focus and Do Not Disturb are respected, and ArrowDeck never plays a sound of its own.

• Works on its own, better connected

  Everything local — the isolated copies, the supervision, the terminals, the captured work, the road to production, the tidying up — works with no account at all. Connect a GreatArrow.ai workspace and your cards, notifications, claims and memory follow you between machines. You can connect later without losing anything.

• Your Mac, not ground into the floor

  A governor caps how much heavy work runs at once and watches load, memory and free disk. When your Mac gets busy ArrowDeck stops starting new work by itself and says so, rather than wedging the machine. Work already running keeps going.

• The window is yours, and it remembers

  Drag the edges between the filters, the list, the panel and the terminal drawer to the widths that suit your screen; ArrowDeck remembers them on this Mac. It opens on the filter you left it on — and on a Mac with no account it opens on “An agent is on it”, because that is the half of the list a machine with nothing attached can actually fill.

Six filters, one list

There are no rooms to move between. Everything in flight is one list, and these sort it by whose move it is — pressing one shortens the list rather than taking you anywhere. ⌘K reaches any of them by name, including the names older versions used.

What’s new

• The terminal no longer freezes. A session's output reader could hit a character-boundary panic while trimming its buffer and die in silence, leaving a terminal that accepted every keystroke and answered none of them. The reader is fixed, and a reader that dies for any other reason is now reported instead of leaving the session looking alive.
• Start a card from the board here. A card that lived only on greatarrow.ai used to show up under "Yours to decide" with nothing to press. It now offers Start it here, which opens the start sheet already holding what the card says needs doing.
• ArrowDeck can tell Great Arrow how it is doing, if you let it. With diagnostics on, it reports which version this Mac runs and when something goes wrong — the kind of event and how serious, never what you were working on. Paths, branch names and error text stay on your machine.

ArrowDeck checks for a new version when it starts and every six hours after that, and offers a one-click restart to update. Every update is cryptographically signed by GreatArrow.ai — an unsigned or altered download is refused rather than installed.

How to install

1. 1Download the disk image and double-click it. A window opens with the ArrowDeck icon and a shortcut to your Applications folder.
2. 2Drag ArrowDeck onto Applications, then eject the disk image.
3. 3Open ArrowDeck from Applications or Spotlight. It shows its licence, asks whether to send crash reports (off by default), and offers to connect a GreatArrow.ai workspace — or to carry on without an account. Nothing runs before you have answered.
4. 4It then looks around your Mac and tells you what it found: the coding agents you have installed, the projects it can see, and the name your commits are signed with. Nothing is changed while it looks. Click Set me up and it wires up what it found.

System requirements

• macOS 14.0 or later.
• Apple silicon or Intel — one universal download covers both.
• Git, and the coding agents you want to run. ArrowDeck can install those for you.
• A GreatArrow.ai account is optional. ArrowDeck is fully useful without one.
